Scranton, Pa. - Visiting Centenary University gave host Marywood University all they could handle before Julie Youngman's double overtime goal gave the Pacers a thrilling 2-1 victory over the Cyclones.  Marywood moved to 3-4-1 overall and 3-0 in the CSAC while Centenary stands at 2-6, 1-2 CSAC.

It was a story of two halves in regulation as Marywood dominated the opening stanza and kept much of the play in the Cyclone's defensive half of the field.  After several near misses and some saves from Cyclone netminder Justine Stefura, Marywood got on the board off a Emily Gerbehy direct kick from 25 yards out.

Hitting straight from the middle of the field, Gerbehy lofted a shot that snuck in just under the crossbar over a jumping Stefura to give the hosts a 1-0 lead.

The visitors turned up offensive pressure in the second half, and despite being out-shot 13-11 in the half seemed to have the better of play and more dangerous looks.

Amanda Benoit made the Pacers pay in the 79th minute of action. After a foul just outside the right edge of the 18-yard box, Benoit converted her own direct kick high and to the near post to knot the game at 1-1.

With neither team being able to find the winner in regulation and the first 10-minute overtime despite several good looks for both squads, Youngman's heroics came into play with just 3:28 left on the clock.

With the ball on the right flank, Desi Rill sent a ball into the middle just across the 18 that Youngman retrieved and cut to her left, then ripped a 16-yard shot back to the near post to beat Stefura for the game-winner.

In all, Marywood out-shot the Cyclones 25-18 and had a 15-9 advantage in shots on goal.  Aly Moyer made eight saves in 106:32 of action while her counterpart Stefura had a game-high 13 stops.  Centenary had seven corners to Marywood's six.

The Pacers are back in action Saturday with their first road conference game of the season, a 1:00 pm matchup at Rosemont College.
